Dr. Patricia Van Horn focuses on the impact of interpersonal trauma on young children's caregiving relationships and describes Child-Parent Psychotherapy, an evidence-based intervention for traumatized infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and their caregivers. Beginning with an explanation of why early childhood trauma is significant, Dr. Van Horn links the universal development tasks of the young brain to the theory, modality and principles of intervention with Child-Parent Psychotherapy, and highlights the empirical data that supports this kind of intervention.
