Dr. Judy Cameron, from University of Pittsburgh and Scientific Research Council, discusses the role of early experiences in the development of a child's brain, as well as his or her behaviour. Behavioural development proceeds as various systems in the brain mature. However, this is a two-way interaction such that behaviours occurring early in life influence brain development and help determine which neural circuits will become well established in a child's brain.
