Leora Hiar

Scientific Associate
Leora Hiar is a Scientific Associate with the Palix Foundation. She received her BSc in Neuroscience from the University of Lethbridge and her MSc in Neuroscience from McGill University. During her graduate studies, she explored how stress shapes anxiety- and depressive-like behaviour, and what factors help support resilience.
Leora has previously worked as a clinical research coordinator in both oncology and critical care medicine. She has also enjoyed teaching as a sessional instructor in psychology and statistics. She loves connecting science with people, whether through research, the classroom, or in day-to-day life. When she is not working, Leora enjoys reading, traveling, and going on adventures with her three cats.
